Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a unique collaborative institution and the first joint venture university in China to offer both UK (Liverpool University) and China (Ministry) accredited undergraduate degrees. of Education) for all programs. Through research, education, and community engagement, XJTLU’s Department of Health and Environmental Sciences seeks to discover, study, and solve complex environmental problems that affect humans in urban environments and rapidly changing rural areas. The department currently has 19 academic staff, 2 open positions and hired 14 staff in the past 4 years with expertise in ecology and environmental pollution.


Applications are invited for two Assistant or Associate Professor level positions in Environmental Science in the Department of Health and Environmental Sciences, Xi’an Jiaotong University-Liverpool.

The positions are 40% research, 40% teaching and 20% service. The initial appointment is on a 3 year contract and is equivalent to a tenure track position. Research expertise can be in any basic or applied area of ​​environmental science. Successful candidates will teach courses in environmental sciences according to the current and future needs of the Department. The HES has current educational needs in remote sensing, water pollution and environmental engineering, chemistry or microbiology


The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in environmental science or a related field relevant to environmental science or public health and appropriate research and teaching experience to be appointed assistant professor/ associated. English is the language of instruction at XJTLU.
